This actual conversation took place today upon Madeline entering the house with me after getting off the bus-------------------------------
Maddie: Mommy, today some real life authors came to our school. They write non-fiction books. Do you know those brothers? You know, those ones who could fly?
Me, the Mom: The Wright Brothers?
Maddie: Yea!! They wrote about book about them. And you know that guy? Frankenstein? The one who invented science?
Me: Ben Franklin?
Maddie: Yes!! They wrote a book about Ben Franklin, too.
How did I know she meant Ben Franklin? I have no idea-I'm telling you it's just one of those secret mom powers. And no, I did not let her continue to think Frankenstein invented science-we talked all about the key and the lightning and now we are both confused.
