Yesterday was "Halloween Day" for Maddie's age group at camp. She decided she wanted to be a bride, but seemed to realize being a "bride" may not be "cool" with other kids in her age group. Boys have cooties and all that. Anyway, she definitely wanted to be a bride, but kept qualifying with statements like...."This is so embarrassing"............."They better not ask me to take pictures with any boys"......................"*big sigh* No, Mom, I'll be a bride."
Please keep in mind, I gave her at least 3 other options from the dress up box. It was a little tough to come up with a "Halloween" costume she wouldn't roast in, but she DID have other options. Trust me, she wanted to be the bride. Anyway, she came home from camp VERY relieved due to the fact that her friend, Lilah, had also defied convention and gone with a bride costume.
